Buying vs leasing a used car
Ownership, mileage, repair risk and resale value compared side by side, so you can decide whether buying your next used car outright makes more sense.
Leasing keeps the payment low and the risk high
Leasing a used vehicle can make sense when the car is nearly new, the term is shorter than you plan to keep it, and the mileage fits your driving. Past those thresholds, you are paying for a car you cannot easily take home.
Buying wins on longer ownership
Keep a vehicle five years or more and ownership usually costs less than a lease with fees. You build equity, skip the excess-mileage conversation, and hand the car straight to the next buyer when the time comes.
Compare the total, not the payment
Add down payment, fees, interest, and what you would owe at the end. Two offers with similar monthly payments can differ by thousands once everything is counted — that difference is the only one that should drive the decision.
The used-car sweet spot
The best value on a pre-owned market is often a well-maintained vehicle a few years past the steepest depreciation, sold with a complete history. That is the inventory we look for, inspect, and stand behind.
